About David

David Dahl is passionate about furniture.

Dahl Furniture is a business devoted to the design and development of quality, innovative commercial and residential furniture.

David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati in 1984. After graduation, he spent two years designing toys at a consulting office in Venice, California. Even as he attended school and designed toys, the Ohio native devoted any free hours to designing and building furniture.

In 1986, David joined John Caldwell Design in Pasadena, California. Over the next few years, he worked on a variety of contract furniture projects with clients that included Thonet, Arcadia, Woodard and Condi.

In 1992, David launched Dahl Furniture, designing and building custom residential and office furniture. To augment the custom work, David began designing seating for the contract market. His hands-on approach to design along with a solid foundation in furniture structure and assembly directly benefited the contract projects.

The contract projects have continued and David has designed for a number of manufacturers including Arcadia, Brandrud, Carolina, Campbell Contract, Encore, Falcon, Jofco, Patrician and Tella. These designs were tailored to various environments including Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, and Corporate.

David also enjoys designing and crafting one of a kind furniture pieces for residential clients. Whether commercial or residential, David goes to great lengths to visualize each design before anything is built.
